Fire Extinguisher

Having a fire extinguisher at home is essential for fire safety. The fire extinguisher can be used to confine or extinguish a fire before it spreads. You can use the PASS method to use a fire extinguisher.

If a fire is discovered in your home:

Use the PASS technique only when the safety of the extinguisher operator can be assured.

Pull – the safety pin from the fire extinguisher.

Aim – the nozzle of the extinguisher at the base of the fire.

Squeeze – the handle to discharge the fire extinguisher.

Sweep – the nozzle from side to side to extinguish the fire.

Keep extinguishers in key areas such as the kitchen, garage, and near exits. Check the gauge monthly to ensure it is fully charged and follow all serviced that is recommended by manufactured.

Only use the extinguisher if the fire is small and manageable. Always have a clear exit and prioritize getting out safety. ESCAPE FIRST! Have at least 2 meeting places for you and your family to meet.
